NIN|JA Atlanta stink
So there seems to be some stink about the presales tickets for Atlanta's Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction show last night. Honestly, I think people are full of shit.
I ordered tickets online from access.nin.com the day they went on sale. The purchase process was quick and easy. A day (or two? maybe 3?) before the show, they sent an email explaining exactly how the process worked -- There was a special window for nin.com members on the far right of the entrance coming from the parking area, you must have id that matches the ticket order and the card you paid with. I starred the email in Gmail and consulted it again on the iphone as I crossed the parking lot. As I got to the window there were 4 people ahead of me and they all walked away just as I queued up. I flashed my identity tokens and they handed me an envelope containing two tickets with my name printed on them.
It took me longer to get frisked than to get my tickets.
In short, I really don't know what the problem here is. I am guessing people tried to go to the Will Call window, which did have a HUGE line. One person on twitter says they got there at 6 and didn't get in till 8:15. We strolled up at 6:45 and were in our seats with a beer by the time Street Sweeper Social Club took the stage at 7:10. Granted I was stuck behind the AV Club and next to people that must have smoked a whole quarter bag of pot during the show (like some bad High School comedy), but I had nothing but good things to say about the ticket experience.
