Top 10 Corporate Code Smells (and other Neal Ford stuff)
I saw Neal Ford give several presentations today at a regional IASA conference. Specifically he dealt with "Polyglot" programming, and 10 ways to improve your code.
For a glimpse of the funny stuff see Top 10 Corporate Code Smells.
Both of the Neal did today that I saw were great. Entertaining, funny, and at the same time informative. It was almost a clinic on how to give a presentation. If you have seen Neal do one of these you will know what I am talking about, angry monkeys, bridges, and Websphere included.
I mention it here because all of the materials are online, for the ones I saw, and a ton more, you can get them at NealFord.com.
Of particular interest are:
- Polyglot Programming
- 10 Ways to Improve Your Code
- Debugging and testing the Web Tier
- Implementing SOA
- Agile Project Management and Mingle
- Metrics Driven Agile Development
- Introduction to JRuby
- Why is Everyone so Excited About Ruby
I am also looking forward to seeing Scott Ambler tomorrow.
